Homemade steamer
- Pour water into a saucepan and place a colander on it.
Important! The colander must not come into contact with water. We cook with steam, not with water. If you don't have a colander, you can instead cover the pan with gauze and secure it around the rim of the pan, either with a rubber band or just tie the edges of the gauze together.
- We spread the products in a colander and cover with a lid so that it does not let the steam through.
- The fire of the burner on the stove should not be strong. The water must boil away slowly so that the food is steamed.
Steam cooking time:
- The asparagus will cook in 6 to 8 minutes
- Carrots 10-15 min
- Green beans 5 min
- Broccoli 6 min
- Sliced potatoes 10-15 min
