Photo: Cultural and entertainment complex "Pyramid"

    Photo and description

The cultural and entertainment complex "Pyramid" is located in the very center of Kazan, in close proximity to the Kazan Kremlin and the central pedestrian street Bauman. Near the complex there is the five-star Mirage Hotel, the city's central stadium, Millennium Square, Bulak Canal, and the city's main railway station.

The “Pyramids” project was developed in 1996 by the leading architects of the city Gulsine and Viktor Tokarev. It was the first modern cultural and entertainment complex in the city. In 1997, construction began, and in 2002 the complex was opened. The opening was accompanied by a grand laser show.

The exterior and interior structures, as well as the interiors of the new building, are designed in an ultra-modern high-tech style. The height of the building is 31.5 m. The total area of the internal premises is 14,400 sq.m. The complex is designed for 2500 guests. The building has seven levels. The main concert hall is two-level, with an area of 1375 sq.m. It seats 1130 spectators. The outer walls of the Pyramid are glazed. The building has an external panoramic elevator that rises 22 meters.

At night, the building is illuminated by powerful spotlights directed upward. Powerful rays shine in different directions and form a virtual, inverted pyramid. There is a multi-level fountain in the foyer. The passages to the restaurant and the second floor of the hall have glass floors. Through the glass you can see an exhibition of ancient Tatar jewelry and various household items.

Disputes still rage over the appropriateness of such a building in the historical center of the city. According to some experts, the building is in good harmony with the Spasskaya and Watchtowers located nearby, as well as the pyramid-shaped monument to those who fell during the capture of Kazan. Together with the building of the Kazan Circus and the Central Stadium, the Pyramid forms a modern ensemble. It is this ensemble that forms the architectural appearance of Millennium Square.

The Pyramid Cultural Center hosts events at the republican, city, Russian and international levels. The building hosts the annual Kazan Film Festival “Golden Minbar”, which is international.

There are various establishments here: a fitness club, billiards, a two-level restaurant with an opening panorama of Kazan, designed for 200 people, a night club, a beauty salon, bowling alley, video and photo salons, a cafe-bar, souvenir boutiques and much more.

In the summer, a huge inflatable tent in the shape of a ball is installed in front of the Pyramid building for 1,500 people, in which discos are held.

There is convenient underground parking under the Pyramid building.

“Pyramid” in Kazan is a cultural and entertainment complex in the center of the capital of Tatarstan. The “Pyramid” is rightfully considered one of the unusual attractions of the city.

Firstly, the building is interesting for its architecture. Secondly, there are many entertainment events, concerts and parties held here. Thirdly, “Pyramid” has an excellent location: it is located next to Millennium Square, a few meters from the Kazan Kremlin and the embankment.

A little about the characteristics of the building: its height is 31.5 meters, there are only seven levels, the total area is 14,400 square meters, and the maximum capacity is 2,500 people.
