What I didn't like

Everything is made of plastic, the back cover is thin like Samsung Galaxy S2. What's the point of a 5-layer sour cream lid? And it's not cheap.
Everything is made of plastic, absolutely everything. And the stylus :), this little stylus that sticks out of the Note, reminds me of the old days of PDAs on Windows Mobile.

What I liked

Only as a universal tablet, a tablet from which you can make calls.

What I didn't like

The touchpad is not impressive and does not always recognize touches correctly, especially in games.
For such a device and the gluttonous Android 4.0.4 the processor is rather weak. Everything slows down, but not critically. Android 4.1 has not yet been released. Samsung has a big disadvantage in this regard. The battery, although large, lasts for a day with average activity. If you play or do anything else constantly, then there won’t be enough for a day.
I didn't like the back cover. In my opinion, on SGS3 it is much nicer.

What I liked

price, screen, camera

What I didn't like

periodically loses the network, sometimes applications freeze, the camera lasts for 16-18 hours, with active calls it lasted for 6 hours, I still haven’t gotten used to its size (I always want to take a smaller and more comfortable phone, although I myself am not small and have a big paw ), sound quality is poor (3), vibration is not felt in your pants pocket.

What I liked

Large and high-quality screen, convenient to use a pen, navigation, bluetooth, convenient to surf the Internet with such a screen, wi-fi not a single failure, excellent manufacturing quality

What I didn't like

Next we will be more concerned with listing the shortcomings associated with the firmware released for this phone. The fact is that this firmware essentially negates all the advantages listed above.
- the phone began to lag, sometimes an incomprehensible error appeared, followed by closing applications, not often annoying, but memorable;
- the camera began to load very slowly, or rather its interface, in order to take a direct picture;
- the memory is gone, I just can’t install applications larger than 15 MB anymore, buying 32 GB of memory didn’t help. I even specifically went into the phone’s memory in the folder manager to clear it out necessary files(although to me these actions themselves already seem like some kind of disrespect for Android developers) - it also didn’t help matters, the phone has gigabytes, but I can’t install anything;
- the notepad for leaving notes and drawings with a pen has stopped saving drawings, I repeat once again, it refuses to save them!
- the battery when using WiFi began to last for 2.5-3 hours;
- if you simply leave the “mobile data” function turned on, the phone may not survive until the evening;
- what kind of radiation comes from the screen, if in the morning you sit for another hour with your head buried in reading or playing games, your head becomes wobbly the whole next day;

What I liked

Large screen with HD resolution (it seems to me that more is not needed for such a diagonal); - good quality received camera images: - the ability to install a huge number of applications and support for most demanding games from the Android market; - the ability of Android to work with files directly from the Internet or other source without connecting to a computer; - HD video support; - a stylus with the ability to draw stunning pictures in a proprietary program; - preinstalled office; - quite fast in the interface; - rare random touch buttons under the screen

What I didn't like

For me it’s the size. My hand gets used to it, but pockets, clutches, dresses, light outerwear... I started constantly walking around with my phone in my hand, like a fool with a handbag :) Android 4 - endless glitchy jumps, a very viral market, I have a battery at active use(navigation, Internet, audio player) lasts from the morning until about 16-00, provided that I keep it on charge in the car (the phone is in “energy saving mode”). The screen lock button is not conveniently located, I’m constantly locked I reduce the ringer volume. Weak wifi receiver (where other home devices show full scale, Note gives two bars), without a bumper and a cover.

What I liked

Excellent screen, good camera, wireless connection to PC, swype.

What I didn't like

Battery, screen scratches, freezes

What I liked

Good screen

What I didn't like

1. Few accessories.
2. after a year and a half of use, the USB connector first failed (more precisely, some kind of card inside was responsible for it, but it was nowhere to be found and it was not possible to replace it, it was charged from a frog), and then it died completely (the repair department said at first that something with the firmware, and a mat with the motherboard or whatever it is, repairs from 7000 rubles)
3. The camera is not very good, or rather its zoom, the quality noticeably deteriorates when you get closer 4. An eternal problem with memory, I downloaded too much of everything, but it was very difficult to clean it, at first the memory card saved me, but then there was still no memory left t.t.
5. The player had an alphabetical index on the side and it was in Latin letters, but after the software update it became Cyrillic and I don’t know how to change it, it was very inconvenient to search for music, and then T9 disappeared somewhere (although I personally don’t it seemed like he was even comfortable)
6. The button on the stylus quickly fell off (although this didn’t really bother me)
7. The battery could have been more powerful, but one day it managed to run out while standing on charge
8. It gets very hot at the back.

What I liked

Good bright display, light, good design, fell several times and the screen was never scratched (and this is without film!). The headset, it’s awesome, the only headset that worked for me for six months, it’s a pity I couldn’t find it separately.

What I didn't like

after updating to android 4.0 it became a terrible slowdown, namely when the shell itself is running, it does not slow down in programs, although many programs periodically freeze completely.
The camera seems to be the same as on the galaxy s2, but it seems to take worse photos than on the s2.

What I liked

Large bright screen and rich colors s memo program and stylus, thanks to which it can be used as a notebook, the charge lasts a long time for the Internet, android is quite convenient, which is more suitable in functionality for a smartphone than the Apple axis

What I didn't like

The battery runs out quickly when using the Internet, after three hours only 15% remains, you always have to carry a spare battery with you, I took a battery with a high capacity of 2700 amh, enough for using the Internet for 3.5 hours. In general, only the battery is annoying. In offline mode, it’s enough to watch 3 hours of video. When many installed applications begin to slow down slightly, but this can be corrected, you need to limit background processes through the settings. I have owned this device for three years now, I’m waiting until batteries appear on the market that will hold a charge at full load for at least 2 days, a QHD display with a powerful at least 2500 processor.

What I liked

Picture quality, excellent photos and videos are obtained only during the day, design.

What I liked

light, nimble, powerful

What I didn't like

Sometimes, for some reason, it’s not loaded with anything, but I’ve tried it with and without antivirus running, and it crashes: it freezes or doesn’t want to start without charging (even though 50% of the charge is available)

What I liked

I- Screen (really good: clear, bright, responsive) Camera (two good cameras with flash and excellent quality, average quality in the dark (but if you filmed horizontally, then it will be bad to look at vertically, very bad) Speed (almost no lag) Software (possibility of updating to 4.0.4, standard 2.3 is a minus) Navigation

pros

The screen is amazing. But so much has already been said about him by others that I won’t stop. I would like to note that I personally really like it. Firstly, the speed of smart reaction to any command. Secondly, omnivorousness regarding media formats (my tablet, Asus, although also on Android, regularly sucks my blood on this issue). Thirdly, a great variety of settings and adjustments of all, absolutely all functions, the clarity and logic of the menu. Fourthly, the photo and video editor is very pleasing. I travel a lot, I like to shoot videos, and the opportunity to edit a small clip on a quick fix worth a lot. You can also create titles yourself, or at least simply draw them. You can almost make a poster out of a photo of your favorite cat. You can add a picture to the photo of your dear spouse... well, whatever your imagination tells you :-)) Are you driving in the car, and your mom urgently needs to notify you about the prices of eggs? No problem! You set up voice control and the “in the car” mode, and the smart phone, in the voice of the strangled Werther, will tell you who is calling and who the stray SMS is from. You can also type texts and SMS with your voice, ask the phone: “Dial Katya (Masha, Sveta, etc.),” and it does, and it doesn’t make mistakes. True, he asks, should I call via Skype or like all normal people? But this is also a plus. There are also a lot of settings for the deaf, blind and left-handed (this sounds somehow cynical, sorry, sooner or later any of us becomes both deaf and blind). From the Android market you can download a bunch of free useful programs (which is what I actually did I did), it doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the device in any way. Typing texts manually is also very convenient, switching the input language is simple - you slide your finger to the side on the spacebar, and that’s it. Well, aesthetics are not in last place - the smart phone is elegant and made of very high-quality materials. In a word, the phone is perfect, it’s hard to touch on all the pluses.

Minuses

The battery, although it pulls this locomotive with all its might, runs out of steam quickly. It is possible, of course, that after several charges and discharges it will loosen up and will last longer, I don’t know. But over time, you will probably have to buy a charger with a second battery in order to change it on the go. So far the charge lasts for a day, and in fairness I must say that I’m not saving much - the Internet is always on, sometimes music, sometimes toys, sometimes ICQ, sometimes photos and videos. In short, the battery may not be bad, but there is room for improvement.

Impression

No, we're not talking about a glass of vodka, but about a Samsung Galaxy Note. To be honest, I was disappointed in the phones of this brand when, out of necessity, I had to buy a Samsung Star 6712 duo. The price is rather high, but the functionality... just give up and throw it away. I gritted my teeth and used it for almost a year, putting up with his stupid temper - either sending empty SMS, or unlocking it in my pocket and calling almost the Pentagon..... In a word, I got tired of it worse than a bitter radish. And some time ago I saw a Galaxy Note in a store and became interested. At first I thought that Samsung had released a new mini-tablet, but it turned out to be a phone. For several months we (me and my toad, who strangles me every time I see a price tag of more than 10 thousand rubles) looked closely at the Laptop, deciding whether we really needed it. It’s not that I’m a shopaholic or a gadget addict, but I love good devices, although I can’t always afford them. In some ways inspired, and in some ways dejected by the reviews I had read, I came to the communication salon, took the “Laptop” in my hands and realized that I didn’t want to release it, by God! Despite the fact that I have a good tablet, and it’s difficult to surprise me with the size and resolution of the screen, I was amazed, there’s no other way to say it. Having returned the phone to the seller with mental anguish (what should I do? 34 thousand rubles is no joke!), I came home and began looking on the Internet for cheaper prices. As a result, I bought the device for twenty dollars, of course, not the PST (why should I feed fat-bellied officials with my own money?). And I’ll tell you what - I’m not the only one who loves this smartphone from the first touch. In the MTS salon, where they set up my SIM card, a girl employee grabbed it and did not give it back for about fifteen minutes under the pretext that she was setting it up. I smiled and remained silent. Everything is clear to me now. Well, now be more specific.

Samsung GT-N7000 Galaxy Note - What it can do with ice cream!

27.05.2012

Purchase

This is not the first year I have been buying goods online, so I ordered a Galaxy Note from the German store "ComputerUniverse". At the time of purchase it cost about 18 thousand rubles. The difference with large Russian networks is 10-12 thousand. The savings are huge. The parcel was sent via EMS. Arrived in 11 days (to the Rostov region).

Equipment

The box contains the following:

  • the device itself. It is sealed with film on top, bottom and even on the sides. I didn’t even see the side stickers right away;
  • S-pen. Pen for drawing and control;
  • battery. An impressive size block;
  • headset with vacuum headphones. Everyone is surprised that it is white, and the device is dark blue. I have my own headphones, so I didn’t attach much importance;
  • a bag with three pairs of vacuum tips for headphones. A trifle, but nice;
  • microUSB-USB cable for synchronization. Not too long in length;
  • small Charger. With USB connector. A cable is required to connect it and the device;
  • warranty papers.

    For those who want to see how it's all packed in the box, here's an unboxing video.

    Appearance

    If you try the device in a communication shop, use it without looking at other devices. It turns out that the Galaxy Note is not so gigantic after all. It's convenient to work with him.

    On the front side at the very top there are sensors and a front camera with a 2 megapixel matrix. The "Samsung" lettering under the speaker is shiny, but not distracting.

    Below it is a 5.2" (about 13.5 cm) Super-Amoled display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Many criticized the smartphone for the fact that it is not Super-Amoled Plus, that it uses PenTile technology, but at its core the screen is gorgeous. All these Plus and non-PenTile are good, but still there is marketing here. The screen is very bright, the colors are vivid, the pixels are visible only if you look very closely. Everyday life I don't notice them. I was very surprised, but the screen is readable in the sun. It fades, of course, but I didn’t have to look closely. So you will be happy with the screen.

    Below are two touch buttons “Back” and “Menu”, as well as a physical “Home” button. Unlike a number of devices that I held in my hands, these touch buttons are not accidentally pressed, so there is no need to be afraid that they are touch and not physical. In photographs, the physical button looks elongated and ugly. In life it’s the other way around - it fits into the design and doesn’t catch the eye. It is framed by a barely noticeable shiny edge.

    On the sides, as well as at the top and bottom, the device has a rounded plastic shiny insert. It is slightly higher than the front part, but not significantly. However, the finger feels the edge of the screen. On the left side there is a volume key. Here I agree with the majority of users - it is inconvenient. Not by itself, but by position. If they made it a little lower, it would be much better, but as it is, you have to grab your smartphone to press the top of the key. On the right is a button to lock and turn on/off the device. There are no complaints about her. On top is a standard headphone jack. I tried it on different headphones - the connector is good, nothing is loose. At the bottom there is a microUSB connector for charging and synchronization, as well as a slot where the S-pen is hidden.

    Special thanks for the fact that there are no stubs. My previous smartphone had them, and after several years they became more of a hindrance than a save. Fans can buy them on the Internet for a couple of dollars - they are available.

    At the back there is an 8 MP camera with LED flash and speaker slits. Miraculously, dust does not accumulate in them, but sometimes the finger confuses them with the stylus and gets caught with the nail.

    Almost nowhere have I come across information about the difference between the back cover and different models device, so I’ll tell you here. In the dark blue version, the lid has a pleasant textured surface that does not leave any fingerprints. In white and pink versions it is simply glossy. This fact stopped me from buying the white version. If there is white or pink in the salon, compare.

    Interface

    At the heart of the Galaxy Note is a dual-core processor with a graphics accelerator. I didn’t regret for a second that I took a dual-core rather than a quad-core smartphone. Four cores require more energy, and there is practically no software for four cores. The heaviest games even run on two cores. So let's say hello to the marketers again and let's not overpay for unnecessary things.

    Now about the system and its features. Almost immediately I updated to Android 4.0.3, so I will tell and show you exactly that.

    We have access to the updated TouchWiz interface, which is very, very good. Now desktops can be deleted and created as needed (from one to seven). Each one can have shortcuts (up to five in a row) or widgets. You can create folders and store multiple shortcuts in them. For example, I put all my browsers in one folder. At the bottom there are five permanent shortcuts: phone, contacts, S memo, messages and applications. S memo will be discussed below.

    There are no complaints about the speed of the interface - everything flies, and no slowdowns were noticed.

    At the top there is a quick access panel for turning wireless interfaces on and off, as well as viewing notifications.

    When you long press the middle key, a list of recently running applications now appears. By sliding an application's icon left or right, you can remove it from the list. It was experimentally noticed that the application does not disappear from memory - for this there is a “Task Manager” button, in which you can truly clear the memory (albeit from all applications at once).

    This is the system interface. Sometimes mishaps occur during translation. For example, the English “On/Off” was translated with the same number of letters and it turned out to be “Vk/off”. Not critical, of course, but I'm used to "On/Off".

    Combat tests

    After many years of using a smartphone, I realized one thing. The smartphone justifies itself over a regular dialer in non-trivial situations. I'll try to cover most of them and how the Galaxy Note deals with them.

    Notes

    I will shorten the preface to a few words. The point of the technology is to be able to write with a stylus on a capacitive screen, taking into account the angle and pressure of the pen.

    The smartphone copes with this task well. If you don’t know how to draw, then you most likely won’t be able to achieve beautiful results, but maybe it’s just my crooked hands.

    There is a small button on the S-pen (that's what the stylus is called). If you press it and double-click on the screen, the S-memo lite application opens wherever you are. This is done in case you urgently want to write something down.

    There is also a convenient thing - when you press the pen button and long press on the screen, a screenshot is taken on which you can draw.

    The full version of S-memo is available from any menu and standby mode - its icon is located in the middle of the row of shortcuts at the bottom of the screen. It differs from the lite version only in that it allows you to view already saved notes. I've never used the Lite version - it's faster to press a shortcut than to press a small S-pen button.

    You can see the settings features in the screenshots.

    With the update to Android 4, some features for the pen have been added. Firstly, this is a new program - S-note. This is an improved S-memo that allows you to save already created brushes, and also recognizes shapes, formulas and converts handwriting into text. Handwriting input is so-so, but shapes and formulas are recognized very well.

    All notes can be exported to jpg and pdf.

    By the way, Photoshop Touch launched perfectly on version 4, although the buttons are small.

    Back in Android 4, there was a useful option to display a dot when you point the S-pen at the screen. It is useful because by default the pen mark is slightly shifted from its tip, so it is better to see where the point will actually be drawn.

    Since I don’t draw well myself, I’ll just give you a screenshot of the note. The rest was asking friends to draw something.

    The only drawbacks of the pen are the small button and the inability to press the “Menu” and “Back” touch buttons with the pen.

    Navigator

    Many people use the Galaxy Note as a navigator. The packaging says that the device supports not only GPS, but also GLONASS. Indeed, this is noticeable both in detection speed and accuracy. Navigation is honest - it works even if there is no Internet connection. I think the quality of the route is different in each city, so I will refrain from making an assessment here. I rarely use the navigator myself.

    Documentation

    The Galaxy Note comes with Polaris Office, which allows you to edit Microsoft Office files. Previously, I often had a situation where I needed to make a couple of edits to the text, but did not have a computer at hand. This solution allows us to solve this problem. But with full editing, your hands get tired.

    Communications

    This is one of the most interesting points. It’s very cool when your smartphone can be as versatile as possible and can communicate with any device.

    I think many people have had this situation when they have a flash drive from which they need to transfer information to themselves, but there is no computer at hand. So the Galaxy Note has a USB host (or USB OTG) mode. Using a special adapter, you can connect flash drives to your smartphone. I ordered such an adapter from China - it cost two dollars. The flash drive in the FAT file system opened without problems. Even a card reader with an SD or CF inserted into it worked. But flash drives in NTFS and even more so external ones hard disks didn't earn any money. Perhaps this can be treated with third-party software, but we are talking about what is available out of the box.

    Another feature of the Galaxy Note, perhaps less popular, but useful for some, is the ability to display images on a TV screen via an HDMI cable. For this purpose, a USB adapter is sold in China. This device is called "Micro USB to HDMI MHL Adapter". The screenshot shows that this box requires additional power via USB. The picture is output at 720p.

    There is also proprietary software from Samsung - Kies Air. When you connect a smartphone via Wi-Fi and launch this application, the contents of the smartphone become available on any computer on this network through a regular browser, and connections require the owner’s consent.

    The smartphone also has WiFi-Direct connectivity (connection of two WiFi devices without a router) and image transmission via the DLNA wireless protocol, but I did not have the opportunity to test them in action.

    Even after updating to Android 4, an option appeared in the settings that allows you to turn your smartphone into a WiFi router, as well as an option for working with VPN networks.

    I can’t help but show how the RDP protocol (remote desktop connection) works on such a screen. Used a third party free application"2X Client".

    Other

    Using the Internet is very convenient. With such a large screen, everything is easy to read. On smaller screens, the eyes quickly got tired; here they also get tired, but not so quickly.

    Everything that concerns the Internet also applies to reading books. The pre-installed application looks beautiful. But this is more likely not an e-reader, but a client for purchasing magazines and books from an online store. I've never used it.

    Regarding multimedia, it so happened that I have a tablet for video, and a player for audio. Therefore, I practically do not use this functionality. But I am glad that again in in case of emergency There will be no problems with most codecs - Samsung, as always, has included support for them in the device.

    Alas, their proprietary Music Hub application does not work in our country.

    For many, a smartphone is also a camera. I do not think so. A smartphone is more of an opportunity to capture something when the camera is not at hand. From this point of view, the Galaxy Note disappointed me. And all because of the lack of a hardware camera button.

    Without it, you can’t quickly call the camera and take a photo. Namely, speed is important when you need to have time to take a photo. The good old Samsung I-8910 Omnia HD had such a button - it took more than one worthwhile shot.

    However, the Galaxy Note's camera is powerful, so you'll be able to post some cool photos on Instagram and Twitter. In camera mode, you now have the opportunity to determine for yourself which shortcuts and which settings you will have in the panel on the left.

    Battery

    Everyone uses the device in their own way, so, unfortunately, I cannot calculate the operating time for each. I recently found out that 3G eats up more battery life than Wi-Fi.

    With Wi-Fi turned on, the smartphone lives from 9:00 to 21:00. In the end, you have to lower the screen brightness to a minimum, but nevertheless, during all the “non-home” time, the smartphone works stably and can exchange data. I have no experience working with other androids, but this result suits me quite well.

    By the way, in the settings there is a custom battery saving mode, which allows you to decide for yourself what to turn off and what to turn on.

    An hour of watching video with automatic brightness consumes 10% of the battery. Unfortunately, I did not test other operating modes.

    Here are the results of a special program that calculates how long a battery will last under certain usage.

    At home

    Personally, I don’t feel any problems talking, as many people write online. In the store you will have the opportunity to hold it to your ear. At first it may seem big (in comparison with other devices), but then you will quickly get used to it. I didn't have any difficulties with this.

    It's really uncomfortable to wear in clothes. It’s better to get a case, for example, in which you can also carry credit cards and money and carry it in your hands or bag. In principle, it fits into some non-tight pants with spacious pockets without problems, but it does not fit into others. Or it fits, but you can’t sit down with something like that without first pulling it out. In the photo I’m wearing loose shorts with large pockets - I can’t even see my smartphone.

    New in Android 4

    For those who use 3G tariffs with traffic restrictions, a built-in data usage manager has appeared. In it you can see when which application downloaded how many, and also set a download limit within a certain period. I don’t have such problems - I usually use Wi-Fi either in a cafe, or in the office, or at home.

    Android 4 introduced a one-handed control option for those who find it difficult to reach all sides of the screen. It lies in the fact that the keyboard and some controls can be made smaller and moved to the left or right (see screenshots). From personal experience, I have large fingers and I can reach everything, so making the keyboard buttons smaller, on the contrary, is a hindrance. But for some it will be convenient - try it right in the store.

    Facial recognition has been added, new gestures have been added. For example, in a browser, by holding the screen with your thumbs and turning the smartphone forward and down and back and forth, you can zoom. Unusual, but still there. More convenient innovation in contacts. Now you can swipe your finger to the left over the contact, and “New Message” will be launched, and if you swipe it to the right, a call will be made to this subscriber. I use this solution, and it’s very convenient on such a screen instead of poking at buttons.

    conclusions

    I deliberately did not photograph the Galaxy Note with other devices, because it is the only one. Its trouble is that they are trying to compare it with a tablet or a phone, but in fact it is unique and inimitable. It's like Harry Potter's magic wand. When you pick it up, you understand whether it’s yours or not.

    Galaxy Note is a universal device for large quantity functions. If you are going to use at least 40-50% of its capabilities, then this is what you need. If the pen bothers you and you don't need a super-large screen, look at something else. One way or another, the smartphone is simply excellent. And with the update to Android 4, it got even better!

    XeaL Storm

  • Smartphone manufacturers are trying year after year to improve their gadgets and at least somehow surprise the consumer: the thickness of the models is decreasing, the battery lasts longer, and the screen is getting better and bigger. Weighing the characteristics of the Samsung N7000, we can say that it keeps up with the times and supports almost all new trends. And if the previous generation - the Galaxy S2 - somehow passed unnoticed, then the new model managed to make a lot of noise.

    So, we present to your attention a review of the Samsung N7000 - a smartphone with a large screen. Let's consider the main characteristics of the gadget, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as the advisability of purchasing with user reviews.

    Contents of delivery

    The device comes in a classic cardboard box white. On the front side there is an image of the gadget itself in two angles along with a stylus. On the reverse side you can see the most remarkable characteristics of the Samsung N7000, and on the ends there are the usual labels and barcodes of distributors.

    The interior decoration is competently decorated and the accessories do not “quarrel” with each other, but each neatly lies in its place. In general, the packaging shows that the manufacturer did not skimp on it and designed everything for the people and conscientiously. It’s a shame to even throw away the box, everything is so good there.

    Completeness:

    • the Samsung N7000 smartphone itself;
    • cable for charging and synchronization with PC;
    • mains charger;
    • lithium-ion battery;
    • headphones;
    • stylus;
    • documentation with warranty card.

    The package can be called standard, and there is nothing superfluous here, and the gadget can be used out of the box. The case for the Samsung N7000 will have to be purchased separately, so it is better to take care of this right away without leaving the store where the device was purchased.

    All the accessories look good, and there are no complaints about their quality: the cord is thick and flexible, the charging is monolithic and without gaps with backlashes, the stylus is nice and comfortable, and the headset is of very high quality. It’s worth noting right away that before first use, the manufacturer strongly recommends fully charging the phone to avoid “sagging” in the battery.

    Appearance

    It would be hard to call the gadget small. Here we have a typical representative of “tablet phones” with dimensions of 147x83x10 mm and a weight of 180 grams. The Samsung Galaxy Note looks big, and if you put a case on it, it looks very big.

    Even in an adult male hand, the device looks rather large, not to mention the fragile female hands: a few extra millimeters to the body and holding it with one hand would be unrealistic.

    That is, there is no place for it in the pocket of jeans or trousers, unless, of course, you prefer shapeless robes or workwear. The ideal place for the Samsung Galaxy Note is the pockets of a jacket or jacket.

    Judging by consumer reviews, the size of the gadget is not the most in the best possible way affects its ergonomics, and it is quite difficult to use it like a regular phone. Even simple conversations can be stressful, because holding it near your ear is very uncomfortable. In addition, the speakers are not located in the best way and you have to adapt to them.

    Judging by the same reviews, owners prefer a headset as an alternative to regular use, and it’s mostly not for everyone. So design features and the characteristics of the Samsung N7000 need to be carefully weighed before you give money to the store's cash register.

    Assembly

    Users have no complaints about the build quality. The gadget turned out to be solid and solid. Although the body of the device is made of plastic, it is of very high quality, so there are no backlashes, gaps or creaks here.

    The Note GT N7000 passed the pressure test quite well, but it’s still not worth sitting on. The panels here are non-staining, and the body collects fingerprints to a minimum. Moreover, getting rid of the latter will not be difficult.

    Interfaces

    The main controls have a standard and familiar layout. At the top you can see the front camera eye, proximity and light sensors, as well as the speaker grille. At the bottom there is a mechanical function key, and the “Return” and “Menu” buttons are touch sensitive.

    On the left side there is a volume rocker, and on the right there is a power key. Using a mechanical button, as was the case in other series, the camera on the Samsung N7000 does not turn on, so you will have to call up the menu to activate it.

    On the top edge there is only a 3.5 mm mini-jack, and the micro-USB interface has been moved to the bottom end. The latter is used to synchronize with personal computer and to charge your phone. The rear part is reserved for the main camera eye, flash and speaker.

    Studying user reviews, we can say that some owners complain that the volume rocker is too raised up. Yes, there are no problems when playing games or watching video or photo content in horizontal mode, but when you talk on the phone or work with it in a vertical plane, you have to stretch.

    Display

    Samsung Specifications The N7000 has been slightly improved in terms of visualization compared to previous generations. The phone's screen is made using Super AMOLED technology, and the matrix easily displays a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. It is not possible to examine individual dots on the screen, especially since PenTile technology is used here, which nullifies all pixelation.

    The matrix does an excellent job of visualizing indoors, but outdoors in direct sunlight the screen goes blind and the information is barely readable. In this case, you have to cover the display with your hand or look for a shadow. The brightness and contrast margins are quite acceptable and in normal mode all data is clearly visible.

    As for viewing angles, the Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000 also has them at a quite decent level. You can calmly watch a video or look through photos in the company of one or even two like-minded people. With a strong change in the viewing angle, all color saturation disappears, and it is not possible to distinguish anything.

    The 5.3-inch diagonal allows you to view content, work in the browser, and play toys with proper comfort, so this part can be called a clear advantage of the phone. All fonts are perfectly legible and there are no problems with solid text, as happens with gadgets on small screens.

    Display Features

    The touchscreen here is capacitive and is capable of working with ten simultaneous touches. One of the notable features of the screen is Wacom's built-in digitizer. The latter allows you to fully use the stylus (S-Pen) for drawing or writing.

    The screen itself is protected by durable glass from the venerable “Gorilla” and is almost completely resistant to minor mechanical damage, such as scratches. So the stylus won’t cause any harm to the surface, and nearby keys in your pocket won’t scratch the display.

    It is also worth noting that this is a smartphone with a GPS module, and it is of high quality and quite adequate, which adds to its versatility. Judging by the reviews of the model, quite a few owners use the device as a navigator in the car; fortunately, there are plenty of all kinds of maps and similar specific software for gadgets on the Android platform.

    Performance

    The proprietary set of chipsets is responsible for the performance - the dual-core Exynos 4210 processor, which showed excellent performance in the last generation of gadgets and was slightly overclocked - up to 1.4 GHz. One gigabyte random access memory It’s quite enough for smooth operation of the interface, and desktops, icons and standard applications work like a clock.

    Judging by user reviews, problems may occur when running serious gaming applications. For modern and “heavy” toys, 1 GB of RAM is no longer enough, so in a good half of cases the graphic presets will have to be reset to a medium, or even minimum level.

    The built-in memory of 16 GB is enough to store photos and music files. For video content you will have to work with an external memory card. The latter are supported in microSD format up to 32 GB. So there shouldn’t be any serious problems with storing information.

    Users sometimes complain about the abundance of advertising in operating system. It gets there either through the hands of distributors, or thanks to the efforts of cellular operators, who sometimes present the model as a branded device. Removing it in the usual way is problematic, but in this case the iron option always saves - Samsung firmware N7000.

    The stock version can always be found on the official Samsung website in the “Software” section. Well, or, as an option, find a similar stock for the Samsung N7000 on w3bsit3-dns.com or other popular forums. There they can suggest some solution if failures occurred during the firmware. In difficult cases, you can always rely on service centers and pay 500-700 rubles for the work.

    Cameras

    The front camera is suitable for communicating via video messengers and making avatars, but the main 8-megapixel camera is capable of taking very good photos and decent video. In addition to the classic shooting modes, the camera interface has a lot of other settings that those who like to take pictures “on their knees” will be happy to use.

    The output, although good pictures (3264x2448 px), is obtained only with proper lighting. Therefore, at night, the camera’s effectiveness drops significantly, and even a smart flash cannot help. As for video, the matrix is capable of handling Full HD resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels at a speed of 30 frames per second. But when shooting in motion, the picture looks jerky, so in severe cases it is better to switch to a higher best option with HD resolution (720 p) and 60 FPS. In this case, dynamic scenes are obtained, albeit not with such clarity, but without any jerking.

    Communications

    The third version of the wireless Bluetooth protocol works stably and without failures. The situation is similar with the Wi-Fi module: trouble-free data transfer at speeds of up to 24 Mb/sec at a distance of up to three meters between devices. The GPS module also pleased with its fast response and good performance. In addition, in the settings you can find all kinds of profiles and presets for almost all occasions.

    There are also no questions about the headset: the sound is high-quality, connection is one-touch, and the cord is quite enough even for working on a computer. Synchronization with a PC occurs very quickly and several modes are available to the user - player, drive or “case”. The smartphone can be used as a modem, and the signal quality does not suffer from this.

    “Windows” of the eighth and tenth series accept the connection without drivers, and on the “seven” and XP you will first have to look at the official Samsung website and in the “Software” section download the necessary files or full-fledged proprietary software for working with the smartphone.

    Autonomy

    The Samsung N7000 has a 2500 mAh lithium-ion battery, which is slightly more than the previous generation. The manufacturer claims 10.5 hours of continuous talk time on a full charge and 960 hours of standby time. In reality, the data on offline conversations is a little less, but generally correct, and there is no need to check the “sleep” mode.

    Under full load, which means the Network, wireless protocols and high-resolution video with toys, the device lasted all day, which is more than acceptable for such a small battery capacity. The Android brethren have always been gluttonous, but here we have a not so productive set of chipsets with a good matrix, where brightness and contrast are almost perfectly balanced and do not drain the battery. It takes at least three hours to fully charge the battery. The manufacturer does not provide for and does not recommend the use of instant recharging: it is better to leave it quietly overnight and not force the battery.

    With mixed use, the gadget can last two or even three days. If you don’t sit for hours on the Internet and don’t play “heavy” toys, then time battery life gadget can be considered more than acceptable. So users generally respond positively to the autonomy of the device. Here it is neither worse nor better than that of direct competitors.

    Summarizing

    At the time the phone was released, Samsung had no serious competitors, and it managed to fill the almost empty niche of “tablet phones.” Even now, not every gadget in this segment can compete with a model from a venerable manufacturer.

    A good half of Chinese models simply lack balance. If the filling is powerful, then either there is no screen, or after a few hours the phone begins to ask to be plugged into a socket. Or, on the contrary, they will install a capacious battery, a good screen, and a mediocre set of chipsets, and in the end we only have more or less normal operation of the interface, without the ability to run at least some serious applications.

    In the case of our respondent, we have perfectly balanced characteristics. Yes, today they do not capture the stars from heaven, but nevertheless, they look quite decent and cope not only with ordinary tasks and multimedia, but also with serious toys (at medium or low graphics settings). And the amount of built-in memory, even without a third-party drive, is enough for most everyday needs.

    The smartphone will certainly appeal to those who need both a tablet and a phone. In this case, it will be much more practical to take a smart model from Samsung than to splurge on a couple of mediocre gadgets. As such, there is no difference when watching video content between the tablet and this device. But if you work closely with text information, then it is, of course, better to look towards devices with a larger diagonal.

    Also, obvious advantages include the presence of a stylus, and most importantly, its full hardware and software support. On specialized forums you can see real masterpieces that are obtained using this model: landscapes, still lifes, self-portraits and the now popular manga.

    So this model is mostly not for toys, but for work, creativity and relaxation with your favorite films and TV series. And of course, as a phone, the device was quite a success. Yes, it is a little unsightly in terms of ergonomics, but you can close your eyes to this if you look at its other advantages.
